Posted in Interviews, S-Preme, Uncategorized on December 21, 2010
It’s officially winter today and as a treat, the Chicago winds deliver another gem for the hip-hop heads. Windy City wordsmith, S-Preme, came through to talk about Vincent Van Gogh (Ye, take note, he spelled it right), spazzing out, and the difference between being a musician and making music. He’s not famous but he’s making his name known. Read the interview after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
Kanye West and His New Trend….
Posted in Kanye West on November 5, 2010
Kanye’s G.O.O.D Friday series may just be the smartest and most generous thing that a musician has done this year. The series which precedes his fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, allowed fans a chance to listen to and download a new song every Friday (sometimes Saturday, depending on how busy Ye was). Kanye was actually very clever in the way that he seemed to embrace the infamous “leak”. We all know leaks happen to the best of them (especially as a release date approaches) and what better way to market your album than to make an event out of it. I can only speak for myself but I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I looked forward to a new Kanye track every Friday!

Miguel Jontel: “MY ALBUM IS COMPLETE!”
I am a huge fan and avid supporter of Miguel Jontel. He is an amazing singer/songwriter who surprisingly, has been waiting in the wings for some time now. Ever since he released his mixtape, Mischief: The Mixtape, I have waited for updates on an album release. His first single, “All I Want it You” feat. J. Cole exceeded my expectations and I was ECSTATIC when he finally tweeted Friday night:
@migmoney: “MY ALBUM IS COMPLETE! ALL I WANT IS YOU out NOVEMBER 30th! owW!”
Even before he released his mixtape, he was busy making a name for himself. He made contributions to Usher’s Here I Stand and Raymond v. Raymond, as well as Asher Roth’s Asleep in the Bread Aisle and Musiq Soulchild’s “IfULeave”. He also has a number of collaborations with underground artists such as Blu, Exile, Esthero, and Daz-I-Kue. If you haven’t heard his mixtape yet, I recommend that you give it a listen. It can be downloaded via his twitter profile @migmoney. That should hold you over until November 30th!!!
Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert 2010 in Vegas
Posted in Uncategorized on October 22, 2010
Each year, Justin Timberlake sponsors the ‘Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open’. The weeklong event that combines his love of golf, charitable nature, and his love of performance kicked off on October 17th. Amidst the tandem of golf competitions, Timberlake will also perform at Planet Hollywood on Oct. 23. This event is appropriately titled, Justin Timberlake and Friends (which also benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children). This year, those friends include Sir Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Sean “Diddy” Combs and his new group Diddy-Dirty Money, Lady Antebellum, Salt-N-Pepa, Selena Gomez and T-Pain. Who knows who else might show up. This year’s guests have been gearing up for the event and sending tweets about their preparation:
Dawn Richard tweets: “HEaDED to VeGas to rock the Stage at JUSTIN TimBerLAKE’S concert and Friends .. IDDM”
I can’t wait to see video from this event!!! If you were able to make it out there this year, let us know how it went. Also, make a donation if you can via FACEBOOK or via JT Shriners Donation Page.
Cee Lo Green’s||Lay It Down’
Posted in TV talk on October 21, 2010
Cee Lo Green chopped it up with Ludacris on the first installment of, “Lay it Down”. You can catch the encore tonight @ 8pm/7c on Fuse. The interview and performance show airs every Wednesday with next week’s guest being Lil’ Jon. Future guests will include, Janelle Monae, N*E*R*D, Public Enemy, and T-Pain (just to name a few).
I think Cee Lo is JUST the person we need to tap into these artist’s minds about their processes and approach to making music. His eclectic taste in music should make for a very interesting show.
Did anyone catch the premiere….what did you think? Promising?
You can visit Fuse’s site to view upcoming guests, photos, and more.

Kanye West Album Art ‘Banned’
Posted in Kanye West on October 18, 2010
Kanye revealed his album cover for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy via twitter yesterday. His message alongside the image read: “Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” He added: “I know that cover just blew yall minds … In all honesty … I really don’t be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my music or album covers” LOL. Don’t you just love Twitter?
Thoughts on his album cover? I think it’s dope. Most artists settle for a closeup of their face on their album covers, Kanye went the creative route. November 22 is the release date just in case ya’ll forgot.
Kanye also revealed via twitter: “My 35 min film ‘RUNAWAY’ will premiere simultaneously on MTV BET MTV2 MTV.com BET.com VH!.com nxt Sat. October 23rd @ 8pm est.”
We’ll keep you posted!
